Biflex

Biflex is a Synthetic Pyrenthroid modeled on Mother nature’s very effective insecticide ‘pyrethrum’ which is extracted from the Pyrethrum Daisy. Biflex not only kills active termites but it also repels termites so they don’t attack this area again while the chemical is still active in the soil. Biflex has a low dosage rate which means that when applied around the external of your house as a barrier treatment, less chemical is required than other chemicals and it still provides a life span similar to other chemicals. Because of the fact that less chemical is needed to apply a termite barrier the cost of the treatment is less than other chemicals. You can also choose to have Biflex applied at a higher concentrates which gives the chemical a longer life span.

Biflex is a chemical that both kills and repels termites. If a termite does not move away from the chemical barrier it will die very quickly. Repelling termite barrier are as effective in stopping termites from gaining access to the building as any other chemical. The chemical helps the termites from penetrating threw the treated zone and into the house.

Biflex is insoluble in the soil: this means that once the chemical has dried and bonded with the soil it will not be leached away by rainfall or the watering of the lawns and gardens.

At Stewarts we use Biflex Ultra-Lo-Odour (not a generic) which means that it has very low odour compared to some other products.

Biflex Aqua

Biflex Aqua is a water based version of Biflex. The unique water based formulation is non-staining, odourless, non-sensitising and non-allergenic. At Stewarts we use Biflex Aqua Max (not a generic).

Stewarts recommend with any chemical barrier that is applied an Annual Termite Inspection to be carried out at least every twelve months after the Initial Termite treatment (as per Australian Standards). This is to make sure the barrier has not been breached and to make any recommendations to stop the barrier being broken down.
