Smokeybrown
Cockroach
These
cockroaches prefer to live out doors. They are relatives to the American
cockroach and look very similar. They are brown to black in colour. They are
winged and may fly short distances especially at night towards lights. They
prefer organic foods, but will eat other food substances and can often be
found outside in trees, shrubs and wood. They can be brought inside on pieces
of wood or may seek refuge inside during the summer. Breeding These
cockroaches glue or drop their egg cases. One egg case can contain up to
twenty-six eggs. These eggs can take anywhere between twenty-four hours to
seventy days to hatch depending on the time of the year and the temperature.
An adult can lay up to twenty egg casings in its life time. American
